- Historic: Historic downtown square. Gorgeous Eastland County courthouse with heavy art deco influences.

GRANBURY REGIONAL | GRANBURY, TX Visited: 04/24/22
- Airport: Nice facility. Restrooms, meeting rooms, vending - and extremely helpful and friendly staff!
- Courtesy car: Yes. Multiple cars available - typically total of 4 cars in the stable.
- Restaurant(s): This trip, we went to the Silver Saddle Saloon - food, service, atmosphere were great. Tons of great eating options in Granbury. Some we have visited include The Fillin' Station, Christina's, Ketzler's Schnitzel Haus and Biergarten, Pearl Street Station - in the downtown square. Also, we had a great all you can eat catfish meal and live music on a
- Friday evening at the Rockin 'S Bar & Grill at the lake.
- Historic: Historic Downtown Square - always active and festive. Various fairs, festivals and events are routinely held in the square on weekends.

GRAND PRAIRIE MUNICIPAL | GRAND PRAIRIE, TX Visited: 10/31/20, 12/14/19

- Restaurant(s): Radial Café, the on-airport restaurant was a good experience. Burger, sandwiches, burritos and traditional breakfast dishes. Open 8 Am to 3 PM, Mondays thru Saturdays. Fun aviation themed décor.

Stan Stamper Municipal | hugo, ok Visited: 02/20/22

- Restaurant(s): Angie’s Circus City Diner is friendly, has good food and provides a flavor of the circus history of Hugo. Lots of circus memorabilia, art and original posters line the walls of Angie's....confirming its place in history as the "Circus City". Buffalo Grill provides great pulled pork sandwiches and other good lunch options. Pit Stop BBQ & Burgers is another good lunch option that was recommended to us. > 1 mile
- Historic: Hugo has been identified by many as "Circus City". Beginning in 1941, when the Al G. Kelly and Miller Brothers Circus relocated to Hugo from Kansas, there have been circuses based in this city. Hugo became a popular wintering place for circus and rodeo companies because of its mild climate. Townspeople and circus people formed relationships and collaborated on civic projects. An estimated twenty circuses at times were based in Hugo, and in 2018 three still operate here: Carson and Barnes, Kelly Miller, and Culpepper & Merriweather. A portion of Mt. Olivet Cemetery was set aside as Showmen's Rest: buried here were circus owner D. R. Miller and rodeo cowboys Freckles Brown, Lane Frost, and Todd Whatley.
- Comments: Some of the views over various lakes below were spectacular! The Hugo Historic District is a 12 block area consisting of buildings constructed between 1900 and 1920 - includes hotels, railway depot and other. We also visited on 8.6.22.

Memorial Field | Hot Springs, AR Visited: 11/27/21
- Airport: Nice facility, restrooms, meeting rooms, vending, etc. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The terminal at times in history was towered. It still handles commerical traffic (substantially tourist and business related) so the facility is very substantial. Interesting Airport History: During WWII, the airport began the transition from grass strips to paved runways, metal hangars, and concrete buildings. The new construction accommodated the
- injured military personnel flying into Hot Springs to be rehabilitated at the Army/Navy Hospital, currently known as the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center.

- Restaurant(s): Angie’s Circus City Diner is friendly, has good food and providesSeveral rental cars available onsite, but the crew car is currently not available. While Uber is available, lots of people on ‘wine tours’ eat up available drivers. The numbers for dependable local taxis are listed on the FBO bulletin board. < 1 mile
- Historic: So many things to do and see in Hot Springs: Here are a few highlights: Hot Springs National Park; Arkansas Alligator Farm & Petting Zoo; Hot Springs Maountain Drive - Scenic route w/ obseration areas; Josephine Tussaud Wax Museum; Ozark Bath House Mid-America Science Museum; Oaklawn Horseracing Casino Resort; Scenic Hiking - Gulpha George Trail, Tufa Terrace Trail, Upper Dogwood Trail, West Mountain Trail & Sunset Trail; Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine nearby; Magic Springs Theme & Water Park.
- Comments: Known as "America's Spa" in the early 1900s, Hot Springs was also the home of Major League Baseball's spring training and Prohibition-era speakeasies.

West Houston | Houston, TX Visited: 12/17/2020

- Comments: If you headed to Houston and want to stay out of the hustle and bustle of the Class B airspace, this airport is a great candidate.

Wood County - Collins Field | Mineola, TX Visited: 10/11/2020
- Airport: Wonderfully accommodating, with meeting rooms.
- Courtesy Car: Yes, two cars and easy to access keys.
- Restaurant(s): Variety of food genres on the historic main street. We ate at East TX Burger Company - good and friendly service; burger and catfish were both great. > 1 mile
- Historic: Beautiful historic downtown area. The Select Theatre is the oldest continuously running movie theater in America. Mineola hosts the Iron Horse Festival in September each year. Mineola Nature Preserve - large city park.
- Comments: Beautiful wooded areas surrounding airport.

Cherokee County | jacksonville, tx Visited: 02/05/22
- Airport: Ample Terminal and Restrooms. Some fascinating historical photos and memorabilia related to the airport inside the terminal.

- Restaurant(s): Family owned JW's BBQ - excellent barbeque and sides. This is definitely a Flight-Kicks favorite! Owner/Operator related history of establishment - and asked to sign the wall, a tradition there. > 1 mile
- Historic: The Vanishing Texana Museum in Jacksonville offers an impressive collection of
- antiquities, curiosities, ephemera and vestiges from the region and beyond, with the majority of the items dated from 1830 through 1950. Items from foreign regions, however, date as far back as 238 A.D. An extensive Antique Coin Exhibition showcases currency hailing from the Roman Empire. Some of the unusual items include the Noell Madstone – a pioneer application for the cure of rabies – as well as a quilt from the Civil War and the only Texas flag that has been to the moon. The museum also hosts a variety of railroad items, hotel relics and agricultural items that outline the history of the Jacksonville, Gum Creek and Old Larissa communities. Within these walls you’ll also find manual typewriters, dinosaur bones, swords, guns, coins and currency, games, dolls, bottles, photographs, scales, sewing machines and everything in between. The museum is divided into several categories, with FREE ADMISSION and tours catered to your interests available to all visitors.
- Comments: Heritage Center of Cherokee County in Rusk showcases the history of the county since 1846. There are many artifacts in each exhibit area - Texas State Railroad, Rusk Penitentiary (1880s-1917), Ghost Towns - especially New Birmingham, Commerce in the county, Indians and Pioneers, Military, Education, Community, and Home Life. There are photos, music and videos to view on the smart TV. The museum is open every weekend except Thanksgiving and Christmas, New Year holidays. Special private tours and club meetings can be scheduled during the weekday upon request.
